As a result of the questions in class, we have expanded Week five notes with echoes from previous work. These are:
Two Grads. Echo from Term 2 Week Four.
Vector Cross: Showing that you can create a skew tensor from any vector. Such a tensor is called a vector cross. Two slides are echoes from Term 1 Week 8:26-27.
Axial Vector: Given any skew tensor, you can create a vector that contains every information residing in the tensor. Such a vector is called the axial vector to this skew tensor. A good example of this is the vorticity vector that is axial to the spin tensor. The theory is an echo from Term 1 Week 8:37-38.
In each of these cases, the location of the original theory is indicated at the top of the slides. That helps you to understand that the theory in simply included and may not flow with the sequence of present slides. You can go to the original locations indicated to fully see the materials in context.
This method of referencing will be continued if the class likes it.
